  • Exciting news! New school nursery opening in January 2018

    Tue 09 May 2017

We are extremely pleased and very excited to announce that our school nursery will be opening in January 2018!

The nursery will offer 30 hours free nursery provision for 26 children.

If you are interested in applying for a place for your child or think you may know someone who is interested, please ask them to contact the school office for an information and application pack.

We are currently in the process of agreeing the design of the nursery building, which will be located in the playground where the hut currently sits.

Works will start in the summer holidays and we will update parents with more information once we know the full details.

We think this is a very exciting opportunity and look forward to welcoming nursery children into our school family!

  • Celebrating Success

    Fri 25 Nov 2016

I am delighted to announce that our headteacher, Mrs Roberts, has been recognised by the National College of Teaching and Leadership as being an exceptional leader and has been selected for a top role as a National Leader of Education (NLE).

Consequently, the school has been designated as a national support school (NSS).

As a NSS, with an NLE as our headteacher, we will support schools in challenging situations and provide additional leadership capabilities.

We have always supported other schools, this is just a national recognition of all the super work Mrs Roberts and all the staff have done.

Roger Pope, Chair of the National College for Teaching and Leadership, said:

“It’s fantastic that heads like Sharon Roberts have the passion and ambition to help improve the life chances of young people, not just in their own but in other schools as well.”

The aim of national leaders of education is to drive improvement in underperforming schools. We now have over 1,200 NLEs and we’re working to increase this number further to spread educational excellence everywhere.”

I’m sure you’ll join me in celebrating this success for the school.

    Kathryn Asten

    Chair of Governors
